What is a.DCR file? Kodak digital cameras store raw images as DCR files. These images are saved in an uncompressed format to maintain the highest image quality. Professional photographers often prefer working with raw images, like DCR images, because they store higher quality images than compressed images and can be more accurately edited. A DCR file may be converted into a number of other file types including an Audio CD, AVI, WMA or WMV, and WAV formats. The Post Recording Manager may be used to automatically convert the files or the Player program may be used to do the conversion. The following screen captures show the Player Windows used to convert a DCR file to AVI, WMA. Playing .dcr files in web application

Play Dcr Files Offline
Hi,
I have a web application that uses a .dcr file. It was originally hosted in a Windows XP box with IIS 5.1. Now it has been moved to a new server with Windows 2003 server OS and IIS 6.0. Now, the .dcr files do not work.
I have the correct versions of Macromedia Shockwave player installed in my browser (IE 7) . I am able to play the .dcr files in my IE 7 browser when I browse the application in old server, which tells me this must be a server side configuration issue rather than a client level one.
I have added the MIME extension for .dcr, .swf etc in IIS 6.0 of new server. The MIME extension I have given for .dcr is application/x-director. I have restarted the IIS after adding the MIME extension. I am able to view the macromedia menu when I right click on the page, but I cannot see the .dcr content.
I believe that Macromedia files are not treated as a web server extension and hence I haven't changed anything there. Please tell me if I am wrong though.
Please help me to fix this issue. Any help is much appreciated.
